It is a small usb-stick sized device, which needs CDC drivers and a lightweight application for the PC (Windows, Linux, MacOS). The principle of operation is simple: the application running on the PC periodically send “I am alive” message to USBWatchDog, which receives it and resets the watchdog timer. If there is no message for a given (0 - stopped to 15 minutes adjustable) time, the PC is considered dead and is reset by shortening the RESET button circuit. If reset action has no effect watchdog try "hard" reset (it mean's switch off PC, wait and switch on) Manual control is also supported. Device has duplicate pins to connect standart RESET and POWER buttons.
The control channels are galvanically decoupled to ensure safety.
USBWatchDog has
PBD10 connector for mothreboard USB extention port (which I found really handy). There are LEDs indicating current status.
