    Description

Vintage Crisp-a-Lite ice cream cone dispenser.  Based on the shipping label on the box and the piece of newspaper that was at the bottom of the box, this is from 1955.  The plastic sign on the front states "Hot Chili in a Crispy Eat-It-All Cracker Cup" (that sounds delicious to me).  I do not see any evidence that this was ever used and this is a rare example of a "time capsule" type new old stock item.
The dispenser measures 14 1/2 inches tall, 8 3/4 inches deep at the bottom and 7 1/2 inches wide. The metal box at the top that is removed to put into the box of cones is 6 inches by 5 7/8 inches.
The original instructions and other paperwork are included.  On the back of the instructions, there is a template for screws for wall mounting.
There a few scuffs at the front of the crumb tray on the bottom that are from rubbing against the box it was shipped in.  There are also a few spots of minor surface rust in the bottom of the crumb tray.  There is a small line where the paint has rubbed away on the door that tilts down - this is from rubbing against the latch for the door.  There is a faint line on the side where the cord came in contact with the paint during storage over the years.
The cord is in excellent shape and the light works (new bulb).  The plastic sign in front of the bulb is not discolored and is still bright white.  The rubber flaps/retaining pieces in the box on the top that keep the cones in place are still flexible. Overall, the paint is glossy and looks like new.
