    Description

    Absolutely charming bookends depicting a young woman in a moment of communing with her horse.  She has been grooming it, wearing work gloves and holding a hoof knife.
    This is the only set of these I've ever seen and I regard it as one of Frankart's most interesting sets.
    Hollow-cast grey metal (spelter) with a gold colored finish.  Marked Frankart, Inc Pat. Applied For on the backs.  Ca. 1930.
    Condition is great.  No breaks in the metal, nothing dented or bent.  Figures are secured firmly without wiggle.  Finish is original with scrapes and dings on the backs and edges of the bases.  Both pieces sit flat and stable.
    Pretty big for Frankart:  7 3/4 inches tall; base is 4 1/2 inches X 4 inches.  Weigh a bit over 7 pounds for the pair (heavier than typical Frankart bookends).
