    Description

    2 3/4" x 2 3/4" is this possible fruit jar lid. Found on a New England milk bottle but did not fit right. Several milk folks tell me it's not a handled milk top, but a fruit jar lid. I have sold my fair share of fruit jars but have not seen any with this Carrying style lid.  It's made of steel and in perfect, strong condition. Only some age discoloring. Here's the incising in the metal: "TO OPEN - PRESS HANDLE DOWN AND SLIDE SIDEWAYS"...."PAT. APR. 27 . O?   could be anywhere from 01 to 09. That last number hidden under that unbending steel wire. Scarce......yes, but rare....who knows.
    It will be mailed by first class for .50 and  I cover for loss or damage on an immediate basis. Low opening bid as usual. Auctions are supposed to start low. I combine of course for postal savings.  Thanks for looking.
