Jerry Bates F4F Wildcat with about 90 inch wing span is about 1/5 scale.
Measure the instrument panel space width of your aircraft. The fuselage of most RC aircraft seem to be a little fat, adjust cockpit panels to fit.
FINE SCALE:
Print LIFE SIZE PNG file onto 35mm (24x36mm, about 1½ inches wide) slide film.
A 35 inch wide panel printed full frame = about 1/24 scale, 2/3 frame = about 1/32 scale, and ½ frame = about 1/48 scale. Hi-white the back and install. The detail is there, but you’ll need a magnifier to see it.
Use this ratio to tailor panel fit:

slower, less maneuverable than Zero, but Marine tough. Most Wildcats had R1830-86 Twin Wasp with 3-blade variable-pitch Curtiss Electric propeller. First F4F3s had 2x telescopic sight; replaced in 1941 by deflector Mk8 gunsight – and stayed thru F4F4 and FM2.

– fixed wings, but light. Wake Island to Guadalcanal: Wake: Henry Elrod crippled DD Kisaragi. Rabaul; Butch O'Hare shot down 5x G4M1 Bettys and was memorialized by Chicago’s airport. Coral Sea – Wildcats inflicted heavy losses on the air groups from Shokaku, Zuikaku and covered Americans to sink Shoho. At Midway and Guadalcanal, F4F3s were preferred over the more available, but heavier F4F4s
F4F4
– Midway until late 1943 when replaced by F6F Hellcat. Santa Cruz - ‘Swede’ Vejtasa used the Jimmy ‘Thach weave.’ Lt James Swett USMC shot down 8 Vals on one mission. Guadalcanal Cactus aces: Joe Foss, Marion Carl, John L. Smith, Richard Galer, Joe Bauer were top Marine aces.
FM2
1944 through 45: with its Wright 1,350-hp was a ‘Hot Cat’ built by General Motors. FM2 had a little more fuel and aux tanks, was 350 lbs lighter than F4F4, and carried HVARs. FM2s worked with TBF Avengers at Samar to aid US DDs in disrupting an overwhelming Japanese battleship TF. FM2s covered every landing from Marianas through Iwo Jima to Okinawa.
FM2s are credited with over 400 kamikaze kills.
