Description
Here are two jars, one "Mason's/ Patent/ Nov. 30th/ 1858" and one "The Hero" with "Cunningham's & Ihmsen/ Pittsburgh, Pa." on base, quart jars in good shape. The Mason 1858 has some of the largest lettering I've seen with an X on the base that is nearly an inch and a half long! The Mason jar has two tiny flea nibbles in the ground lip, the Hero jar only one nibble. The Mason is in sparkling clean condition with some trace of crud that should clean up to mint and the Hero jar just some minor haze and crud in the base from being buried. The lid on the Mason jar is well fitting but is a standard Ball lid, the oh so more valuable lid for the Hero jar is missing, of course! They are Red Book #'s 1787 and 1241-2 respectively. It has become time for me to thin out my collection and none of these listed today have ever been on the market before, having been dug by me and in my possession. Please feel free to ask any questions and know I will guarantee satisfaction for any or no reason or full refund. Check out my 100% positive feedback comments. I will combine shipping where feasible. No reserve, and thanks for looking.
