1860's "The Gem" Canning Jar/Antique Aqua Fruit Jar/Glass/Metal/Vintage Kitchen

I have for your consideration a large canning jar measuring about 9 inches in height and about 4 1/2 inches across the base. THE GEM looks to have been patented in 1867-1868. The lid is from 1870. The bottom is scratched up, as expected after 150+ years. Glass has some possible discoloration, I have not cleaned it so I do not know for sure. A great, early, kitchen accessory.
